Brighton Under-21s suffered their first defeat of pre-season as they fell to a 2-1 loss away at National League side Worthing.
The Seagulls looked rusty following their 2-1 win over Luton Town on Saturday and, with key players Charlie Tasker, Freddie Simmonds and Nehemiah Oriola out in Austria with the first team, a youthful side featuring a few Under-18s never really found their rhythm at the Sussex Transport Community Stadium.
Albion’s sloppiness was evident early on when goalkeeper Michael Dike made a mess of his first touch when closed down by Coleman De-Graft.
The ball bounced into the sky before being volleyed home by Worthing’s new signing Ramell Carter, who opened the scoring in the 13th minute.
