Speculation had surrounded Maisie Symonds's future after her Brighton contract expired in June, but the Seagulls have now confirmed that their captain has extended her stay at the club.

The news will be welcomed by supporters, who have watched Symonds develop as both a player and a leader since her arrival in 2021.

Across her 103 appearances, Symonds has played an integral role and featured in almost every Women’s Super League match since the 2023/24 campaign.

In addition to her tenacity to regain possession and ability to kick-start attacks, the 23-year-old’s leadership skills saw her named as club captain last season.
