Brighton Women secured a 3-0 victory over West Ham in front of 4,373 supporters at the Amex Stadium on Saturday in the Women’s Super League.

On an evening when the contest needed a moment of quality to break the deadlock, Albion’s Maisie Symonds delivered exactly that with a stunning long-range strike in the 29th minute.

The Brighton skipper could not have hit the ball sweeter as her half-volley spun into the top-right corner, instantly becoming a Goal of the Season contender.

The hosts dominated from the start at a blustery and rain-soaked Amex Stadium, with Emilie Joramo coming within inches of opening the scoring when her effort deflected wide of the right post in the 18th minute.
