Brighton have reportedly submitted an opening bid for Flamengo’s Wesley Franca as they look to steal a march on Manchester City, who are also keen on the defender and view him as a potential Kyle Walker replacement.
The 21-year-old has also been linked with Chelsea in recent weeks, but they aren’t in for the Brazilian as they are not in the market for a new full-back this summer.
Nevertheless, Wesley impressed in his Club World Cup game against the Blues and, despite being at fault for the opening goal, played a key part in his side’s 3-1 comeback.
According to The Telegraph, Brighton have looked to steal a march in the race to sign the right-back by submitting an offer worth £20million for his services.
