Tommy Watson is viewed as a big prospect by Brighton, but he may be about to follow a familiar path as a number of Seagulls youngsters by heading out on loan in January.
The £10million summer signing has struggled for minutes so far this season, and, despite many fans calling for him to be offered more opportunities, he is yet to make his Premier League debut.
However, the former Sunderland academy graduate has impressed in the Carabao Cup, scoring a brilliant goal on his debut against Oxford, and providing a hat-trick of assists in a 6-0 thumping of League One side Barnsley.
According to Football Insider, Portuguese giants Porto are closely monitoring Watson after they saw a late loan enquiry rejected on deadline day. The 30-time Portuguese champions haven’t been put off by Brighton’s prompt rejection and they are considering returning with a fresh offer in January.
