Brighton are reportedly planning for Bart Verbruggen’s potential exit and have shortlisted another replacement option, Lens’ Robin Risser.

The Seagulls have been linked with a host of goalkeepers in recent months, including Wolfsberger AC’s Nik Polster and St Pauli star Nikola Vasilj.

Brighton are often proactive in the market with their succession planning, but their search for another option between the sticks comes at a time when Verbruggen has started to assert himself as one of the best shot-stoppers in the Premier League.

The Dutchman has come to the rescue of the Seagulls on numerous occasions in recent weeks, making some fine saves to prevent Sunderland from breaking the deadlock in their 0-0 draw with the Black Cats over the weekend.
