Brighton are reportedly among a host of clubs plotting a move for Manchester City youngster Nico O’Reilly in the January transfer window.

The Seagulls shook up their ranks over the summer, but Fabian Hurzeler opted against freshening up his midfield – with the likes of Carlos Baleba and Yasin Ayari trusted to hold down the fort in those central areas instead.

However, a fresh face in midfield appears to be on the agenda in January. According to CaughtOffside, Brighton are interested in signing versatile City star O’Reilly, who came through the ranks as a midfielder but has been deployed in fullback at the Etihad Stadium in recent months.
