Nottingham Forest are reportedly refusing to give up their pursuit of Lewis Dunk, despite the Brighton captain recently activating a one-year contract extension clause in his contract with the Seagulls.

The England international has remained a key player under Fabian Hurzeler this season, playing all but one Premier League fixture, which he missed due to suspension.

The 34-year-old’s spot in Brighton’s starting XI looked to have been in jeopardy throughout the summer when the Albion acquired the services of Olivier Boscagli and Diego Coppola. But, after an up-and-down start to the season, Dunk has shown he’s still the first name on the team sheet.
