Brighton have reportedly been handed a blow in their pursuit of Aston Villa’s Lamare Bogarde, as the Villans have ruled out a January sale.

The Seagulls were linked with a £25million move for the 21-year-old earlier this month as part of their succession planning for Carlos Baleba, who looks likely to move next summer, after he spoke about the speculation surrounding him last window.

However, according to Football Insider, Brighton’s transfer planning has already taken a hit, as Villa have no interest in selling Bogarde in the winter window due to them competing in multiple competitions and looking to have as much squad depth available as possible.
