Leyton Orient have announced the signing of young goalkeeper Killian Cahill on a free transfer from Brighton. The Irishman was set to become a free agent this summer but has since put pen to paper on a two-year deal at the League One club.

The 21-year-old represented the Republic of Ireland U21s on a few occasions and has been in and out of Albion’s development squads, with his best season coming in the 2023/24 season, where he played 12 games in the Premier League 2.

Cahill only played eight times for the Seagulls last season, but he did appear on the bench in the Premier League against Wolves. Despite his best efforts, he never quite managed to truly break into Fabian Hurzeler’s plans and fell below the likes of James Beadle and Carl Rushworth in the pecking order of young shot-stoppers at Brighton.
