Brighton’s talisman Joao Pedro could soon be the subject of a bidding war, amid rumours that the forward has requested to depart the south coast this summer. While Newcastle hold the strongest interest, a familiar face is ‘feared’ to be looming in the hope of enticing yet another Albion player away from the Amex.

Magpies manager Eddie Howe has been a long-term admirer of the £70million-rated forward and attempted to sign him before his move from Watford to Brighton materialised in 2023. The three-cap Brazilian’s ability to play as a striker, no.10 or out wide strongly appeals to the ex-Bournemouth boss.
