Brighton are said to be ‘relaxed' about the future of centre-back Jan Paul van Hecke, despite recent reports suggesting that the 25-year-old is looking to leave the club this summer. Reports recently emerged in the Dutch media claiming that Van Hecke is eyeing a move away from the Amex Stadium and has piqued the interest of several Premier League outfits.
Sources close to the Netherlands international have reportedly informed Voetbal International of the defender’s desire to play Champions League football and compete at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. It is, therefore, suggested that while Brighton were ready to make Van Hecke their highest-ever paid player, the centre-half has turned down the Seagulls’ proposal in the hope of securing a move away.
