Brighton are always looking to improve their squad in the most efficient and effective ways, and the underwhelming start to the season from Carlos Baleba, amid links to Manchester United, has seen them seemingly already start their search for a new defensive-minded midfielder.

Several options are likely to already be coming under consideration, though the Seagulls may have found their main in Ismail Yuksek, following a glowing recommendation from defender Ferdi Kadioglu.

The 26-year-old Turkish international has made a strong start to the season with 13 appearances across all competitions, playing a total of 882 minutes. The midfielder has been with his current club Fenerbahce since 2020, but it’s his recent performances that have impressed Brighton and prompted them to keep a close eye on him.
