Former Brighton player and Under-18s coach Inigo Calderon has issued a warning to the Seagulls as Igor edges closer to the exit door, with Real Sociedad entering the final stages of talks for the Brazilian.
The 27-year-old defender has been linked with moves away to various clubs across the first month of the summer window. But the strongest interest has come from La Liga club Real Sociedad, who have reportedly already agreed personal terms with him and are in negotiations with Brighton over a transfer fee.
In an interview with El Diario Vasco, Calderon heaped praise on Igor and revealed that he felt the defender could be a big miss, saying: “I was the Brighton Under-18s coach for 18 months and I know the players because we are very close to the first team. I have seen Igor daily, especially during Roberto De Zerbi’s tenure. We shared a training ground and often stayed to watch the sessions.
