Birmingham City are closing in on a deal to sign Brighton winger Ibrahim Osman on loan, The Brighton Base can reveal.

The forward is set to be recalled from his loan spell at Auxerre before heading to the Championship outfit for the remainder of the campaign.

Osman had struggled for minutes so far this season in the Ligue 1, making 16 appearances for Christophe Pelissier’s side, starting seven matches. He registered two assists during his time in France.

Brighton saw off plenty of competition to secure the signature of the 21-year-old in 2024, striking a deal with Nordsjaelland for a fee in the region of £16million. Osman then spent last season on loan with Feyenoord, where he made 32 appearances in all competitions.
