Brighton have reportedly joined the race to sign Atalanta’s Honest Ahanor.

The defender has hit the ground running since joining the Bergamo outfit from Genoa over the summer, making 10 appearances in all competitions.

Ahanor’s performances have not gone unnoticed though, despite Atalanta’s underwhelming campaign so far, which sees them sit in 13th place in the Serie A and eight points adrift of the top six.

According to Sport Witness, Brighton and Nottingham Forest are both interested in signing the 17-year-old in the January transfer window. Their respective pursuits are described as both being at the initial stages.
