Brighton have reportedly shortlisted FC Nordsjaelland’s Caleb Yirenkyi as a target ahead of the January transfer window.
The Seagulls have already been linked with a host of midfielders in recent weeks, with Lyon’s Tyler Morton and Ferencvaros’ Alex Toth among those who are said to be coming under consideration at the Amex Stadium.
Brighton are in no need for immediate reinforcements in central areas though, but it is Carlos Baleba’s uncertain long-term future at the club which is likely to force them into the market.
The Cameroon international is expected to leave the Seagulls at the end of the season, amid interest from Manchester United and Bayern Munich, which would leave a significant hole in the heart of Fabian Hurzeler’s midfield.
