Botafogo’s exit from the FIFA Club World Cup is likely to prompt Brighton to reignite their pursuit of Brazilian left-back Cuiabano. The Seagulls have been heavily linked with the 22-year-old for much of the summer so far, but they are not alone in their interest.

Brighton have reportedly already had three bids rejected for the full-back in recent weeks, and they are expected to table a fourth offer soon. The Seagulls pushed to strike an agreement for the defender early in the transfer window but their efforts proved unsuccessful, with bids not matching Fogo's valuation and the club unwilling to enter any concrete negotiations whilst they were competing in the United States.
