Brighton suffer £34m blow as Olympiacos reject Seagulls’ big-money bid for ‘Greek gem’

Brighton saw a big-money bid rejected for Olympiacos star Christos Mouzakitis over the summer, their sporting director has revealed.
The Seagulls shook up their ranks over the course of the transfer window, with notable acquisitions arriving from Greece. Stefanos Tzimas joined up with the first team, having been signed in the January transfer window and loaned back to FC Nurnberg.
Charalampos Kostoulas then put pen to paper on a five-year deal with Brighton after an agreement was reached with Olympiacos worth £30.4million (€35 million). However, Fabian Hurzeler had a third Greek prospect in their sights, it has emerged.
