Brighton’s Carlos Baleba was one of the most sought-after players in this summer’s transfer window, with many clubs considering making a move for the young midfielder. However, it was only Manchester United who made a serious move for his signature, but seemingly, they were put off by the Seagulls’ hefty price tag of over £100million.
Since the window has closed, Baleba has struggled to regain his form of last season following the serious volume of speculation surrounding him over the past few months. His turn of form even saw him dropped by manager Fabian Hurzeler against Bournemouth.
These poor performances combined with the huge price tag may cause the Red Devils to reconsider their options, and according to the Daily Express, United are eyeing a surprise move next summer for former Chelsea and Crystal Palace midfielder Conor Gallagher as a ‘Plan B’ for Baleba.
