Burnley are among a host of clubs reportedly in the race to sign Brighton’s Tommy Watson on loan this month.
The winger has struggled for minutes with the Seagulls following his move from Sunderland over the summer, making 10 appearances in all competitions, which includes just 57 minutes of Premier League football.
Watson was expected to be a rotational option out wide for Brighton this season, but, despite Kaoru Mitoma’s recent injuries, Fabian Hurzeler has favoured Diego Gomez and Maxim De Cuyper on the left instead.
The 19-year-old has faced injury problems of his own too, and all parties appear to be in agreement that a short-term loan could be the most beneficial plan of action for the remainder of the campaign.
