Brighton are reportedly closely monitoring Aston Villa’s Lamare Bogarde as part of their succession planning for Carlos Baleba.
The Cameroon international has been heavily linked with a move away from the Amex Stadium over the past few months after Manchester United looked to acquire his services late in the summer transfer window.
However, Baleba’s valuation, which is believed to be in excess of £100million, ultimately put an early end to negotiations between the two clubs.
Nevertheless, the former Lille star looks likely to be on the move before next season, with United, Bayern Munich and a number of other European outfits keen to sign the 21-year-old. The Seagulls are therefore starting to ramp up their search for a new midfielder, anticipating a bidding war for their No. 13 in the near future.
