Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler has heaped praise on owner Tony Bloom following Malick Yalcouye’s breakout campaign in Austria and his fantastic start in pre-season.

The 19-year-old spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Austrian side Sturm Graz, where he scored four goals and picked up two assists in 26 league games. He also made eight Champions League appearances and received the player of the match award against Borussia Dortmund.

When asked about the midfielder after Brighton’s 3-1 pre-season win against Stoke, Hurzeler told The Argus: “Of course, you see today the game he improved. He had some great skills. I really enjoyed seeing him play. The numbers from Tony made again a great job!
