Brighton 'reignite interest' in ex-target but risk missing out as PSG accelerate talks

Brighton have reportedly reignited their interest in PSG star Carlos Soler, but they face a race against time to secure his signature. The midfielder is unlikely to stay in the French capital, as several suitors are considering a move for the 28-year-old.
While Brighton’s long-standing interest reportedly remains, Villarreal have made significant strides toward signing the Spaniard. According to French newspaper L’Equipe, the La Liga outfit have opened talks to bring in Soler by two potential means: a loan with an option to buy, or a permanent transfer.
Les Pairisiens are understood to be willing to offload Soler, after loaning him to West Ham last season. The Spanish international made 33 Premier League appearances under Julen Lopetegui and then Graham Potter, bagging just one goal and an assist.
