Fabian Hurzeler will be struck with a puzzle during the winter period as he loses the services of Carlos Baleba and Simon Adingra across five games to this years’ instalment of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). The tournament is set to run from the 21st of December until the 18th of January 2026 in Morocco.
The Premier League fixtures for the 2025/26 campaign were announced on Wednesday as Brighton learnt Baleba and Adingra’s absence will fall across five games consisting of Arsenal (away), West Ham (away), Burnley (home), Manchester City (away) and Bournemouth (home).
Should the Ivory Coast or Cameroon go into the deeper stages of the tournament, Hurzeler will have to look at his backup options to get the most out of his side in such a crucial period of the campaign, notably against two of the favourites to win the league in City and Arsenal.
