Ill fortune was arguably the theme of Brighton’s season, as injuries plagued the side more than any other Premier League club, with a total loss of 1,407 days. However, Yankuba Minteh has pointed towards inconsistency as another trope of the Seagulls’ shortcomings.
Speaking to SportsBoom, he explained: "Sometimes we didn’t start games well, or we lost focus in the second half. In the Premier League, I think that’s the difference between three points and none. We need to improve tactically; our game management, especially when we’re ahead. And mentally, to stay sharp in every game, not just the big ones. That’s something the manager’s been pushing.”
