Arsenal defender Ben White has revealed that he felt it was clear that Viktor Gyokeres was ‘destined for greatness’ during their time spent together coming through the Brighton ranks.

The striker featured consistently for the Seagulls’ Under-23s but never made a league start for the club, ultimately being allowed to depart and join Coventry for a mere £1million in 2021 after a series of shaky loan spells elsewhere.

Gyokeres has since developed into one of Europe’s most lethal finishers, bagging his third league goal of the season for Arsenal over the weekend following his £64m move from Sporting.
