Brighton new signing Stefanos Tzimas has spoken about how his January transfer to the south coast from Bundesliga 2 side Nurnberg unfolded. The deal saw him move to the Amex for a reported £20.8million, putting pen to paper on a contract until June 2030 before heading back to Der Club on loan for the remainder of the season.
In an interview with England365, the Greek striker revealed that he was initially surprised to learn about interest from the Seagulls, and how the prospect of playing in the English top-flight was an opportunity too good to ignore when other suitors arrived.
He explained: “I was surprised. We're talking about the Premier League, about the best league in the world. It was my dream to play in the Premier League. I wanted it since I was little. I thought my chance had come.
