Former Brighton star Percy Tau has revealed that his teammates were left confused by his lack of minutes during his time at the Amex. The Bafana Bafana star joined the Seagulls in 2018 and headed out on loan three times before finally getting a chance in the Premier League in January 2021 when he was recalled from his stint with Anderlecht.
However, upon his return, Tau struggled for game time, only playing 302 minutes across three league matches and three FA Cup games. Despite the South African looking promising in his limited minutes, then-manager Graham Potter continued to put his faith in Belgium forward Leandro Trossard.
