Brighton captain Lewis Dunk has given a positive update on his fitness ahead of a busy Christmas schedule, having struggled with his injury problems across the last few seasons.

The defender endured a tough start to the season but has bounced back to his best in recent weeks, and in turn, the Seagulls’ results have started to improve. After leading Brighton to a 3-0 win over Leeds earlier this month, Dunk continued his strong run of form with an impressive display against rivals Crystal Palace to help his side secure back-to-back clean sheets and earn a hard-fought point away from home.

The 33-year-old has spent his entire career with Brighton, making his senior debut away to MK Dons in 2010. Across the last 15 years, he’s racked up many appearances, and that now sees him just three games away from the 500 mark.
