Brighton assistant head coach Andrew Crofts has lauded James Milner, with the veteran on course to break the Premier League’s appearance record this weekend.
The 40-year-old has enjoyed spells with Leeds United, Newcastle, Aston Villa, Manchester City and Liverpool during his 24-year career, which led to him making his 653rd appearance earlier this month to match Gareth Barry’s record.
A tough test against Brentford now awaits his Brighton side, and Milner will be hoping to play a key role in the Seagulls putting an end to their disappointing run of form and marking his record-breaking appearance with an important three points.
