Fabian Hurzeler provided a promising injury update on several players who were ruled out of Brighton’s pre-season clash with Las Palmas on Monday night. The Seagulls boss was pleased with his side’s 2-0 victory over the Spanish Second Division outfit, highlight that his team pressed well from the front, ‘especially in the first half’.

Matt O’Riley teed up midfield partner Yasin Ayari for the game’s opening goal early on, which the Swede tucked in from close range, and just two minutes later the Albion doubled their advantage.

O’Riley was at the heart of it all once again, this time benefitting from his intense pressing, as he won possession high-up the pitch and swept his strike into the bottom corner from 30-yards out, following a tired pass from Las Palmas defender Juan Hergoz.
