Georginio Rutter plays down ‘Pedro replacement’ idea and reveals his true favourite role

Georginio Rutter has played down suggestions that he will replace Joao Pedro for Brighton.

Brighton forward Georginio Rutter has played down suggestions that he will directly replace Joao Pedro, following the talisman’s move from the Amex to Chelsea this summer. The 23-year-old has instead expressed his preferred position ahead of the star’s second season on the south coast.

Suggestions that Rutter will fill the shoes of the Brazilian have recently surfaced following Pedro's 10 goals and six assists in the Premier League last season, with such contributions the highest of any Brighton player during the campaign. 

When prompted about stepping up in the absence of his previous Albion teammate, Rutter told The Argus: “I heard this about me, I don’t want to change something on me. I try to play football, I try to enjoy.
