Fabian Hurzeler has spoken out on Evan Ferguson amid reports that AS Roma are considering cutting his loan stint at the club short.

The Brighton striker joined the Italian outfit on a loan-to-buy deal over the summer and hit the ground running at the club in pre-season, but he has been unable to replicate those performances in competitive fixtures.

Ferguson is yet to open his account for Gian Piero Gasperini’s side in nine appearances in all competitions, prompting AS Roma to consider replacing the 21-year-old with other strikers – such as Brighton-linked duo Joshua Zirkzee and Promise David.
