Brighton have announced that Fabian Hurzeler has penned a new three-year contract with the club.

The German was approaching the final 12 months of his deal at the Amex Stadium, but the Seagulls have acted swiftly to tie the head coach down to a new long-term agreement, which now runs until June 2029.

Hurzeler led Brighton to an eighth-place finish in the Premier League in his debut campaign in England, but Crystal Palace’s success in the FA Cup ultimately halted the club's hopes of a return to European football.

The Seagulls are hoping to record consecutive top-eight finishes this season after bouncing back from a poor winter period.
