Brighton manager Fabian Hurzeler was left 'confused' by referee Jarred Gillett’s performance during his side’s 1-1 draw with Wolves over the weekend.

The official dished out six yellow cards during the contest, with four of those bookings being to Brighton players in the first half – which Hurzeler has revealed significantly impacted his gameplan.

Defenders Lewis Dunk, Jan Paul van Hecke and Mats Wieffer were all cautioned, though it was Carlos Baleba’s yellow card in the 21st minute which proved most disruptive after the midfielder brought down Hugo Bueno.

The Cameroon international was consequently replaced at half-time by Georginio Rutter, prompting further debate about whether the midfielder is truly settled with the Seagulls after a summer full of transfer speculation.
