Fabian Hurzeler has jumped to the defence of Carlos Baleba following his shaky start to the season.
The Brighton star has struggled in the opening four matches of the campaign, being substituted off early in the first three games of the season before being dropped for the recent clash with AFC Bournemouth over the weekend.
Baleba was introduced in the 66th minute against the Cherries but endured a disastrous late cameo, prompting further conversations about the impact of Manchester United’s interest over the summer.
Ruben Amorim identified the midfielder as his top target in the final few weeks of the window, but club to club talks soon highlighted to the higher powers at Old Trafford that the Cameroon international’s potential asking price would be out of their reach.
