Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler has spoken about his decision to substitute Carlos Baleba off late on in his side’s defeat to Fulham last weekend.

James Milner came on in place of the Cameroon international in a change which was met with a disgruntled reaction from the travelling Seagulls supporters at Craven Cottage.

Brighton appeared to lose control following the change, with Harry Wilson going on to bag a 92nd-minute winner after Charalampos Kostoulas conceded a free-kick deep inside his own half.

Hurzeler has now opened up on that change, revealing that Baleba had initiated the substitution as he was ‘exhausted’.
