Former Liverpool star Stan Collymore has criticised the Premier League’s ‘Big Six’ for not signing Brighton striker Evan Ferguson this summer.

The Irishman instead joined Roma on loan with a £34.7million option to buy in a deal that he will hope helps him get his career back on track following a prolonged spell on the sidelines with the Seagulls and a disappointing loan spell at West Ham United.

Speaking to CaughtOffside, Collymore said: “I think it’s quite remarkable that Evan Ferguson, who is still only 20 years of age, did not attract more attention, especially from Premier League clubs.
