Brighton’s Evan Ferguson was the next big thing when he broke through in 2022, and his performances and goal returns justified the hype.

However, things have not gone to plan since then, and the Irishman now finds himself on loan at Roma, where he has spoken about his reasons behind heading to the Stadio Olimpico and the difference between English and Italian football.

When emerging as a top talent on the Sussex coast, the then-teenager revitalised an underwhelming Brighton attack in Roberto De Zerbi’s debut season at the club.
