Danny Welbeck is reportedly set to be named in England’s provisional squad for this summer’s World Cup.

The striker has enjoyed another stellar season on the Sussex coast, scoring 13 goals and registering an assist in 35 Premier League appearances.

Welbeck’s good form has seen him widely tipped to return to the international stage as an alternative option to Harry Kane, with the Three Lions short of No. 9 depth as things stand.

Ollie Watkins, Dominic Calvert-Lewis and Dominic Solanke have all been called up by Thomas Tuchel previously, but Welbeck now appears to be among the considerations for a spot on the plane this summer.
