Danny Welbeck claims Brighton fans ‘may not understand’ team’s style yet in bold admission

Danny Welbeck has jumped to the defence of the Brighton’s playstyle following their win against Leeds.

The Albion put right a disappointing week that included a 4-2 loss to Manchester United and Carabao Cup exit against Arsenal, but their comfortable 3-0 victory wasn’t all plain sailing, as early on at the Amex Stadium a few groans could be heard around the ground from disgruntled supporters.

Brighton currently sit 10th in the Premier League table, three points outside of the top four, and when asked about the League’s competitiveness this season, Welbeck told BBC Sussex: “It’s never easy. Never easy in the Premier League and every single team you come up against is going to be difficult.
