Brighton’s Danny Welbeck endured a slow start to the season, but in the last few games, he’s bounced back to form and showcased why he’s still capable of leading the line for the Seagulls in the Premier League.
The striker’s upturn in fortunes in front of goal has not gone unnoticed either, and there have been suggestions that he could be in the frame for an England call-up in the next few months.
The 34-year-old made it four goals in three games with his match-winning brace against Newcastle last weekend, but it wasn’t just his finishing that impressed, it was also his intelligent movement and link-up play that caused the Magpies’ backline many problems.
