Brighton wonderkid Charalampos Kostoulas has spoken about his Premier League debut and stated that he feels he is ready to make his mark ahead of the Seagulls’ Carabao Cup clash with Arsenal.
The 18-year-old replaced Albion record signing Georginio Rutter against Manchester United over the weekend, and it took him just 13 minutes to score his first goal for the club. A corner from James Milner found him at the near-post, and the Greek rose highest to divert the ball beyond Senne Lammens with a brilliant header.
It was an afternoon of mixed feelings for Kostoulas though, opening his account for the club in a disappointing 4-2 loss, and when asked about his emotions, he told BBC Radio Sussex: “Yes, it's true. I'm happy for the goal. It's my first goal from Brighton, first goal in this league. But the result, it's not the one that we want. We could do something better, but football is like this, wouldn't take any point. We're looking forward for the next game.”
