Former Brighton star Warren Aspinall has questioned Carlos Baleba’s performances since the 2025/26 campaign got underway. The midfielder has struggled in the opening three matches of the new Premier League season, being substituted off early in each fixture.

Baleba was heavily linked with a move away from the Amex Stadium over the summer, with Manchester United opening talks with Brighton over a big-money move for the Cameroon international.

However, the Red Devils’ approach was swiftly rejected by the Seagulls, who were unwilling to entertain the prospect of allowing their No. 17 depart despite rumours that Baleba would be open to heading to Old Trafford.
