Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler has revealed why he believes Carlos Baleba decided to remain with the club following the Seagulls’ 1-1 draw with Fulham in the Premier League on Saturday. The German described the midfielder as a ‘bright player’, following what has been an eventful summer of transfer rumours and recovery for his No. 17.

The 21-year-old has been the subject of interest from several Premier League sides, with Ruben Amorim’s Manchester United previously pushing to strike a deal for Baleba, as per Fabrizio Romano. However, Brighton have no intention of parting ways with the Cameroon international this summer, and the Red Devils will now subsequently turn their attention to alternative targets.
