Brighton star Carlos Baleba has reportedly been ‘battling a knee injury’ throughout this season, which is said to have been one of the key factors in his struggles in recent months.
The midfielder lit up the Premier League last season with dominant displays, and his performances caught the eye of Manchester United, among others. Ruben Amorim’s side made a late move to acquire the services of the playmaker before cooling their interest after recognising that a deal would cost them in excess of £100million.
Nevertheless, the talks appeared to take their toll on Baleba. The Cameroon international has struggled since the speculation, leading to criticism and manager Fabian Hurzeler sending him some stern advice.
