Adam Webster has sung the praises of Jack Hinshelwood after he took to first team football like a duck to water. Jack, the son of former Brighton defender Adam Hinshelwood, was given a chance to show his ability by Roberto De Zerbi in 2022 when the Seagulls headed to Dubai to train during the World Cup break. Since then, neither he nor the club have ever looked back.
The Worthing-born midfielder headed into the 2024/25 season under new boss Fabian Hurzeler off the back of three goals in 19 games the previous year, and he quickly became an integral part of the German’s setup.
He played 2,268 minutes across 31 games under the 32-year-old and showed his versatility playing at both left-back and right-back, in midfield, and even up front - where he scored a brace on the final day of the season against Tottenham. He also improved on his goal tally by two and his assists by three.
