Former Brighton star Adam Lallana has announced his decision to retire from football after making over 300 Premier League appearances. In his retirement message, he sent a heartfelt message to the Seagulls following his four-year stay at the Amex Stadium..
The England international joined the Seagulls on a free transfer from Liverpool in the summer of 2020 and played 31 games in his first season, with his only goal coming against Leicester. This 31-game season was the most games he’d played since 2016/17.
In total, over the four years, Lallana made 104 appearances for Brighton, scoring four goals and providing four assists. During the 2022/23 season, he was sidelined for 117 days with various injuries and missed 15 games, but he did return strong and played 952 minutes the following season. However, after the season concluded, Lallana opted to move on.
