Brighton could potentially be dipping into the Turkish market once again, after the signing of Ferdi Kadioglu last summer, as they are reportedly eyeing another young defender to further bolster their backline.

According to Turkish news outlet Fanatik, the Seagulls are interested in Trabzonspor’s Arseniy Batagov, who played for Ukraine at the U21 European Championships. He played 90 minutes in all three of his countries’ matches, captaining his nation in their 2-0 defeat to the Netherlands. The defender emerged with plenty of credit from the tournament, and his impressive performances have caught the eye of a number of clubs.
